Our targeted services at our Bromley Centre include:

• Direct work with children
  
• Group work programmes for parents
  
• One to one family support work
  
• Group work for children (including MySpace, Welcare’s tailored treatment and recovery programme to support children from homes where domestic abuse and violence has occurred)

Our Bromley centre is located in St Barnabas Church in Cray Valley which enables us to serve children and their families in the most disadvantaged area of Bromley.

We travel to visit families in their own homes and are committed to supporting families throughout the whole borough of Bromley. Over the last year our staff team of Barbara Wilson and Catherine O’Garro and volunteers have facilitated the Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities Parenting course from the Cotmandene Children’s Centre and our MySpace domestic abuse treatment and recovery programme from the Parish School in Central Bromley – we are grateful to all our community partners for allowing us to use their venues.

Our core service is the intensive one-one support to 75 Individual families and this is where we blend the professional expertise of our social work staff with ongoing support from a team of volunteers.

In the last year we have worked in close partnership with the Bromley Children’s Project to ensure that our services complement each other and are targeted at supporting those who need our help the most. We have also welcomed new volunteer mentors who are supporting children who we have worked with.

We are fortunate to be wonderfully supported by our Parish Representatives who harness the support of the local church community and support us through the annual Toy Service to provide Christmas gifts and supermarket vouchers for families in need. The supermarket vouchers can be distributed by our staff throughout the year and enable parents to buy fresh food, cleaning materials and other essentials.

Our Friends’ Group organise a programme of fundraising events including quiz nights, carol singing and theatre shows.
