People with learning disabilities are more likely to have sight conditions so our support services are available to anyone with sight impairment and additional needs.
Our specially trained staff are experienced in providing essential support to help you achieve as much independence as possible. We also offer practical help and advice to families and carers on an individual basis or via group training sessions so you can support your loved one or clients with confidence.
We understand the additional challenges that sight impairment can bring to living with learning disabilities. Our caring team are here to help you to maintain as much independence as possible and our flexible approach allows us to adapt our service to your individual needs. We can also help you prepare for important appointments like eye tests so you feel comfortable and relaxed. Contact us to find out more about how we can help you, a client or loved one. Our services are free and available to anyone with sight impairment.
Intervenor service
Our Intervenor service provides one to one person-centred support and is designed for adults who are congenitally deafblind, and who have a learning disability or additional physical disabilities, resulting in complex needs. It also benefits people with a single sensory impairment and significant additional disabilities, again resulting in complex needs.
Our Intervenors can help people learn communication skills using a range of methods and develop structured programmes of activities encouraging social and personal development. We also provide support to develop and maintain skills enabling people to manage everyday tasks and activities independently.
