Participants are fully involved in planning the monthly programme of activities. We offer as wide a choice as possible to enable a broad range of opportunities. Activities aim to enhance travel training, independence skills, budgeting skills, access to the local community, preparation for employment, social wellbeing and most importantly, having fun!
Some activities are based at the project base, while others will be out in the local community. Once applications are received, we offer people appropriate age groups and the opportunity to be with others with similar interests.
Each group caters for 12 adults, who are supported by a Scheme Leader and three members of staff. All our staff are very experienced in supporting people with disabilities and work on other Bromley Mencap projects. All staff are fully trained and are DBS checked.
The project is based at West Wickham Methodist Church and at Cotmandene Day Opportunities Centre. Costs can be financed either by self-funding or Direct Payments. If you have a personal budget you can choose to take part of it as a Direct Payment and use this to pay for our service. We can help you complete the paperwork to set this up and assist you with the simple quarterly monitoring required by Bromley Council.
