Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup)

Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) has an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer working in the Ophthalmic Departments at Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough and Queen Mary‘s Hospital in Sidcup. The Eye Clinic Officer is a liaison between the Consultant Opthalmologists / clinical staff and other services. Patients who are attending/have attended an eye clinic appointment and want further advice and / or support can contact the Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, Monday-Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm. Please note, the Officer cannot help with rescheduling appointments.

The Eye Clinic Officer provides:

* emotional support;

* information about eye conditions;

* advice on the services available to people with sight impairments, including the process of registering as sight impaired, benefits and concessions and local services.

* support for anyone who is worried or nervous about attending an eye appointment at one of the clinics, aiming to do whatever's possible to help make the visit as stress free as possible.
