The Friends of Whitehall Recreation Ground is a voluntary group that was set up in late 2005 after a series of public meetings that were organised in partnership with the London Borough of Bromley. The purpose of the group is to encourage the local community to have an involvement in the upkeep of the local park and have a stake in its future development.
Our Green Gym is now established - if you fancy some exercise and fresh are and enjoy gardening, pop along on Monday's from 11am to 2pm meeting by the container opposite the Bath Road entrance.
We have run a series of successful events throughout the years including Fun Day, Apple day and Easter egg hunt. We have developed a range of habitats including creating a hedgerow, stag beetle loggery, orchard, bat and bird boxes, creating a meadow and pond area. We also have a series of workdays throughout the year that range from habitat creation to daffodil planting. All the daffodils you see in the park were planted by local people and families.
