Chelsfield Players (The )

The Chelsfield Players was founded in 1936 and has developed a reputation for good quality amateur theatre. Over the years it has had a Youth Theatre, presented outdoor productions and performed five plays at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The Chelsfield Players produce three productions per year and on five occasions have taken their Summer production to the Edinburgh Fringe. They rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Village Hall, Chelsfield, or in venues nearby.

Where we are now

We mainly rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8:00pm at the Village Hall, Chelsfield, or at halls in the local area. Our main aim is to provide a wide variety of plays for our audience, ranging from the classic to the contemporary; Terence Rattigan to Terry Pratchett; Shakespeare to Ayckbourn.

New members from 16+ are always welcome. We welcome new actors and encourage actors who are willing to take on backstage roles when not acting.

We even welcome those people who don't want to act at all but just fancy getting involved, feeling the buzz and joining in the friendly and sociable atmosphere.

Backstage you may get involved in management, administration, budgets, marketing, advertising, directing, design, prop making, set building, costume making, front-of-house, lighting sound effects… an almost endless list.

We welcome people who wish to act or to help backstage. Contact: info@chelsfieldplayers.org
