4th Crofton Guides is a long-standing Guide unit that has been at St Johns Church since the 1950’s. We pride ourselves on making every meeting entertaining whilst also working hard to gain badges and awards. We do a wide range of different activities and are ready to get stuck into anything. We love a good campfire filled with songs and smores (biscuits with marshmallows). The latest Girlguiding programme holds the same format throughout Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers, meaning the girls are empowered to lead sessions, which is one of our Girlguiding 5 essentials. Everything we do is based around following the Guide Law and staying true to the promise.
We have a diverse range of leaders all from different Guiding backgrounds, some with years spent in Guiding and others with little experience who are keen to cast a fresh eye over the unit. We all share a great passion for GirlGuiding and are committed to spending time to make the unit the best it can be.
Gone are the stereotypical days of girls just doing craft! While we do love a crafting evening, we do a wide range of different activities, too many to count! A brief summary of activities would be: Sports – Abseiling – Camping – Express yourself through art – Games – Campaign
We meet at St John’s URC, Orpington on Friday evenings during term time.
