Currently we meet on Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 9:30pm in Beckenham close to Beckenham Junction Railway Station and Tramlink Terminus. Car Parking in St. George's Road. Buses 54, 162, 277, 354 and 367 stop nearby. (There is also the N3 but we will be asleep by then.) See club meetings page.
Are you interested in transport or model railways?
Do need some advice or want to learn more?
Have you always wanted to get back in to model railways but never got round to it?
Does your partner or parents not allow you to have a railway at home
If you would like to find out more, please come along to one of our club meetings. You can then see for yourself what we do and meet some of our members - you should find some interesting people to discuss trains with. Members come from all backgrounds from accountants to railway engineers and all ages from 8 to over 80.
Experience is not needed - all we ask is that you have an interest in railways and are prepared to help the club meet its objectives by helping with a layout or at the occasional exhibition. Whether you wish to get involved in complex model engineering or just play with your model trains, you will be very welcome. The club is also a great opportunity to learn more about model railways and learn from some of the more experienced members who will be happy to show you how things are done.
Membership brings with it the chance to work on our layouts, use the club library and operate our layouts at exhibitions. It also allows you to meet many new friends in the hobby and pick up ideas and learn new skills. The club magazine, "The Ground Disc" is also free to all members and of course, you get into all our club exhibitions free (provided you help to run them!).
If you've visited us and decide you would like to join, you will need to complete an application form and return it to the Membership Secretary. The committee will then approve your membership although this is usually a formality!
Prospective new members are very welcome but please contact the membership secretary for further details.
From the 1st January, members pay an annual subscription. The cost goes towards the rent of clubrooms and associated bills together with insurance and storage costs.
Annual subscriptions may be reduced pro-rata for part year when joining, or may be paid in 6 monthly parts.
