Bromley Supported Housing is an accommodation-based service with a focus on employment, training and education. Working in partnership with the London Borough of Bromley and their Support and Resettlement Team, the service provides customers with the skills required to make a successful transition into independent living.

The customers in this service are individuals aged 18+ who have experienced homelessness, rough sleeping and may have a history of mental health and/or drugs and alcohol abuse.

The service is delivered across two sites, one of which includes cluster-based accommodation and the other is made up of self-contained flats.

Across the two sites, there are 45 units of accommodation.

Charles Darwin House – 23 self-contained flats

Lewis King House – 22 cluster based properties with communal bathroom and kitchen facilities.

The service provides:

• Inclusion – connection to community services and local activities and events
  
• Confidence building – communication skills and empowerment to manage day to day activities with support and to progress towards independence
  
• Financial / budgeting support and guidance
  
• Support in accessing healthcare provision in their local area and improving their overall health and well being
  
• Support in accessing other statutory services including the DWP, banks, adult social care
  
• Training, Education and Employment – Working with external partners to provide a meaningful programme of support aimed at facilitating our customers pathway into employment and financial independence.

Our Service

This is an accommodation-based service, so support is provided on site via 1-2-1 or group support sessions utilising a trauma-based methodology and psychologically informed approach. Each customer is allocated a dedicated Journey Coach with additional support provided by the Journey Co-ordinator who helps with managing the move on pathway Customers will also be supported to engage with external agencies both on site and in the community.

This is also a 24/7 service with a dedicated service manager on site during core hours. There is additional management support from an Area Manager who visits the site on a weekly basis and out of hours support through the out of hours on-call rota.

This is a long-term provision designed to support individuals to live independently maintain and sustain a tenancy.

Customers are provided with support plans that consist of goals and outcomes identified entirely by customers, ensuring initial support focuses on what’s important to them.

We will work in partnership with training providers, employers and the DWP to ensure opportunities are maximised for customers and they can engage with the services that will help facilitate their successful move on.
