Hoblingwell Park

Friends of Hoblingwell

Friends of Hoblingwell was set up in 2009 after the locals won against using the park as a dumping ground.

We have 2 main objectives.
  1. To stop joy riders burning out cars, tearing up the posts and pitches and to stop anti-social behaviour.
  2.  To bring the community back into the park and woods. By putting on numerous events, walks and other activities .

Hoblingwell Wood is situated in St Pauls Cray and is just off Scadbury Nature Reserve and Petts Wood. It is a mutli purpose park that includes a wooded area (with a pond and a stream) that includes many different species of wildlife. There are some small paths that trail through the woods whilst there is also a circular walk that takes you around the whole area. There is also a kiddies park and several sports pitches, run by Orpington Rugby Club.

We have a small group of active members including, a chairperson, treasurer, secretary and social secretary and over 600 followers on Facebook. We also have members that look into the heritage of the site and we meet every 3rd Thursday of the month to talk about any issues, sponsorship, planning events and work days.
