As part of the hospice community programme, the St Christopher’s Community Choir aims to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to people in the local area.

St Christopher’s Community Choir:

• Welcomes people of all cultures, creeds, orientations and genders to draw strength and inspiration from singing together
  
• Offers singing respite to those facing or caring for loved ones experiencing life-changing illness and bereavement
  
• Raises funds for and awareness about the hospice by participating in hospice and community events
  
• Contributes to personal and social wellbeing through the wellbeing benefits of singing and building resilient, connected communities
  
• Will be a safe, supportive, friendly group who enjoy singing and socialising together.
  

Led by Musical Director, Katie Rose, the music will involve:

• Learning a set of songs over a term – both accompanied and a cappella, from a diverse range of genres – world, folk, pop – in three and four part harmony
  
• Working towards a termly concert and other special events in a multi-cultural choir calendar
  
• Participating in lively sessions beginning with a fun warm-up of stretches, breathing and vocal exercises followed by uplifting singing in harmony
  
• Sharing audios and lyrics for home practice.
  

Once places have been allocated, a suggested donation of £5 per session or £60/£65 per 12/13 week term can be made via our donation page. Apologies, we cannot take cash payments.

All singers welcome, regardless of financial circumstances.
