Benefits Assessment Support

Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind

Benefits Assessment Support helps adults experiencing mental health difficulties, living in the London borough of Bromley, to prepare for and attend benefits assessments.
Many people find attending benefits assessments difficult, increasing anxiety on top of existing mental health and physical conditions.
It can be difficult to explain the full impact of mental health problems to a benefits assessor.
In many cases, people are not awarded the benefits they need for everyday living and often need to go through a lengthy appeal process

The support of a volunteer could increase the chance of benefits being awarded first time around, avoiding the appeal process.

To be eligible for this service you will need to be referred by a professional health or social care worker.
Alternatively, call Bromley Well on 0300 330 9039 and ask to be referred to Benefit Assessment Support.
